Rhône valley
Ahh.. the South of France, Blue skies, the scent of lavender, and the cicada´s song... Famous for its red, such as the full bodied Grenache and the earthy Syrah, this region is also home to Viogner, and rosés, the perfect drink to beat the heat.
Aquitaine
Aquitaine, the dream region for all wine-lovers, whether you are a beginner or a connoisseur ! Here you will find the world´s most prestigious wines and the most famous appellations Sauternes, Graves, Saint-Emilion, Médoc..., but also more secret terroirs whose reputation is growing year by year like Duras, Bergerac, Jurançon, Madiran, Irouléguy on the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Champagne
Where would celebrating be without this wonderful region ? But there would be no bubbly if it weren´t for three distinct grapes : Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. Head to Reims and the vineyards in Aube ans Marne, where there are plenty of famous champagne houses to keep you occupied.
Rhône-Alpes
Being France´s most diverse region, the Rhône-Alpes contains a wide variety of wines and also sports an important center of gastronomy : the city of Lyon. So whether you find yourself in the mountain vineyards of the Savoie region, or in the Beaujolais wines of the north, you´re sure to run into good food ans good wine.
Burgundy
Though one would assume that Burgundy is known for its reds, its actually known more for its Chardonnays, from which the fruity Chablis is made from. This region is also known as France´s very first wine-making region, and is home to the delicate Pinot Noir grape and fruity red Gamay.
Regions : They go by region instead of the kind of grape. Confusing, things will greatly clear up once you visit !
